Exciting! My website is ready and I’m going to blog. With this I complete a long-standing dream. I would like to write so much. I used to write a lot of stories. Now I regularly write short pieces to express my thoughts, to express my (dis)pleasure. My website is of course for my own practice that I perform from the partnership, which my husband Maarten Moens and I founded: “The Entire Story”. You can read about our partnership on the website.
My blogs will be about daily business, in my work, in my life.
I like to write about things that touch me, to surprise me, to engage in me, to stir me up or to make me angry and uncomfortable. Sometimes my blogs will be politically tinted, sometimes very personal. And often I will use nature and art as a source of inspiration.
I’m curious. A kind of public diary.
My workroom is a small personal museum. All objects are connected to a story, a dear one, a reminder. There is art, but also objects or papers that are a precious memory. Being aware of it gives me inspiration; Often, by watching my mind, I can change my mood. I practice “looking with my heart”, developing my sensory heart. So I try to take what I see and perceive as consciously as possible. In this way I am thinking a lot of “Doggy” during my work. It hangs right next to my desk at eye level. I bought the picture at the Noordermarkt in Amsterdam. From birthday money. It may not be well-drawn, but the phrase and pose of “Doggy” meet me every time and call up tenderness and sweetness.
It helps when I’m stressed and gloomy, looking at Doggy, I can usually get in touch with myself again. It’s amazing how the artist painted Doggy with so much love and attention.
Thinking of “Doggy” also helps when I’m not in my workroom. I’m trying to look at people, by calling up the mood that Doggy calls. How hard and ugly encounters may also be, the image of Doggy helps anchored in myself, meeting the other from love.
